During our MCHS years, Dick and I always had our lockers next to one another.  We became friends and even dated for a while.  Our life paths carried us in different directions, and we'd see one another at reunions.  Later in life we kept in contact via email and phone calls.  Just before he died, I'd received a call from him, but didn't find the time to return his call and comment on the message he left.  Today I regret not returning that phone call.

My sincere sympathy goes out to Dick's wife Susie and their family.  We will all miss him.....  Rest in peace, my friend.  You always managed to bring a smile to my face.

I talked with Dick many times in the last couple of years when he was shopping at Meijers.  He was always upbeat and friendly.  I have to say that I think he was a genuine good guy.  I'm hoping he would say something similar about me if I had beat him to the finish line.  As Vicki said, my locker at school wasn't far from his either.

It was so nice to talk about the "old" days with Dick at the reunion.  He was as nice as I remembered him to be.  My best to his family.
